Holiday time = tee time

Moments of happiness on the green: Working on your handicap in a relaxed manner is a wonderful hobby – at least for our colleague Leonie. Have fun with a golf experience report that comes from the heart.

Get your first taste of golf

Spring cries out for warm weather, outdoor activities and the scent of freshly mown grass. This backdrop can be found on the surrounding golf courses of the Falkensteiner Hotels. As soon as the evenings get longer and the weather shows its friendlier side, it’s high time for the first tee shot of the season.

For all those who still doubt the coolness of golf (Been there, done that.), I would like to take up the cudgels in favour of this sport. Golf is really great! Exhausting yourself in beautiful landscapes, mental and physical demands, a new challenge every time and spending time in good company – even dogs are allowed on some courses.

Although my own golf career has only really taken off in the last year, I have become a fan and can now share my enthusiasm. There’s more to this sport than just a smart outfit, countless rules and expensive clubs: golf is challenging, but at the same time anyone can get into it, no matter how athletic. Like everywhere else, talent is an advantage, but in golf in particular, practice makes a big difference – even golfers with years of experience have a shot that never works. For me, the mental challenge is even more important than the practice, because you can’t let bad shots affect your entire round. At the same time, good shots bring so much joy that the sport becomes an addiction – because after a good shot you want to play again until you hit a similarly good shot. But the best thing is the time you spend together in your flight in the great outdoors. There is hardly a better pastime than standing on the grass with like-minded people in good weather and challenging both your fellow players and yourself.

Ready to tee off?

… or do you still need a licence to play golf? The right swing may need to be learnt, but anyone who wants to play on a golf course also needs a licence to play. Spring, and with it the start of the new golf season, is the perfect time to get ready for the course. Beginners can make the most of the full season (including financially thanks to attractive offers), practise a lot and improve their handicap with a tournament or two right at the start of their golf career.

Tee time = Me Time

As it takes a little time to master the course, it can be perfectly combined with a short holiday. At both the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Carinzia at Nassfeld and the Falkensteiner Balance Resort in Stegersbach, guests stay just a few minutes away from the surrounding golf courses. On a golf holiday, this means that golf enthusiasts can concentrate fully on the green during the day, while in the evening it’s all about relaxing and recharging their batteries in the wellness area. The golf holiday is rounded off with excellent cuisine and, for those who haven’t had it yet, a golf licence.

With drive on holiday

The Falkensteiner Balance Resort Stegersbach in southern Burgenland offers golf lovers a paradise. Guests can reach four different golf courses in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The 45-hole Golfschaukel Stegersbach is the largest golf course in Austria, but the Golfclub Bad Waltersdorf, Thermengolf Loipersdorf and the Reiters Golf & Country Club in Bad Tatzmannsdorf also impress with challenging courses in a beautiful landscape.

Golf enthusiasts staying at the hotel receive a 20% green fee discount at the Stegersbach golf course and can also book tee times directly at the hotel. After a successful round on the course, special fascia massages or tailor-made massages, adapted to the needs of golfers, provide relaxation. The hotel’s service for golf guests is as self-evident as the correct etiquette on the golf course: it is possible to book a golf cart including lunch box, and there is also a caddy room for storing golf equipment and a golf cleaning station.

The Nassfeld also captivates golfers with its dreamlike nature in the midst of the Carinthian mountains. On the 24-hole Nassfeld Golf course, just a few minutes away from the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Carinzia, both professionals and beginners can enjoy the Mediterranean climate, absolute tranquillity and lush greenery. Non-golfers (as yet) can get to know the sport with a golf taster session. Guests of the hotel also benefit from a free green fee per person and overnight stay from the Deluxe room category upwards. A golfer goodie and €20 resort credit are also included.

The fairway is calling

Numerous long weekends in spring offer the opportunity for a golf break. Enjoy a few days on one (or more) of the beautiful golf courses and let yourself fall under the spell of this extraordinary sport!
