The eight most beautiful beaches in Sardinia

Mediterranean nature, beautiful sandy beaches, and crystal clear waters: Sardinia’s beaches are probably among the most beautiful in the world. It’s not so easy to decide on a Top 8. Nevertheless, I still dared to try:

Cala Cipolla

Loosely translated, Cala Cipolla means “Onion bay”. The small bay at the western end of the coastal strip has been the scene of many advertisements. A guarantee that this is one of the earth’s most beautiful spots to visit.

Malfatano

A historic architectural highlight can be discovered on the beach of Malfatano. From the southern outlet of the beach, you have the best views of the Capo Malfatano, an old Saracen tower.

PUNTA MOLENTIS

On the beach of Punta Molentis, you are at the destination of your dreams, here you get a real Caribbean feeling. The beach is sandy and rocky, with small dunes in the background. The sea is crystal clear and sky blue.

In the past, huge granite blocks were loaded onto cargo ships, but fishermen also had their mooring here.

Sa Colonia

Sa Colonia beach offers Caribbean flair. Its almost white sand guarantees an incomparable setting. Behind the beach, there are beautiful sand dunes and lagoon lakes to admire. Wonderful for long walks.

PORTO GIUNCO

This beach is characterized by fine, light sand and crystal clear, light blue water. The sandy beach, which slopes flat into the sea, lies behind the lagoon lake Notteri, where pink flamingos still live.

The picturesque sand band is over throned by the Saracen tower Torre di Porto Giunco.

The long beach is equally suitable for families with children, sun worshippers and surfers.

COSTA REI E SCOGLIO DI PEPPINO

The Costa Rei, located on the southeast coast of Sardinia, convinces with its turquoise blue, crystal clear water. Several inland lakes form a reserve for rare bird species.

The Scoglio di Peppino marks the southern end of the Costa Rei. This large rock rises a full 25 metres out of the sea. Not only does it form a great jumping rock, but it also offers protection for the beach and the small bay of Punta Santa Giusta, which lie directly behind it and are therefore particularly child-friendly.

Turreda

Nestled in a beautiful bay between Capo Malfatano and Capo Spartivento, Turredda beach is ideal for swimmers. Only a few hundred metres from the beach is a small island, which experienced swimmers can reach in just a few minutes.

SPIAGGIA CUCCUREDDUS

Here we have a beach characterized by fine white sand and bordered at both ends by two small cliffs. Depending on the currents, the water shimmers in many shades of green and turquoise and is rich in marine fauna.

Let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of the Sardinian beaches, and find your own favourite beach.
