Harvest good, all is well – Our Q3 sowing calendar

Not only the summer and the hot temperatures are ready, but also everything we have nurtured in the first months of the year.

Look forward to your crunchy salads, beans, and peas from July to September. Juicy vegetables like radishes, tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and courgettes are just as ready as your well-stocked herb patch. Sweet fruits like strawberries, raspberries, currant and everything else your heart desires are now FINALLY ready for snacking. <3

By the way, you can find the last two calendars here Q1 and Q2!

Yes, the first few months were only for the hardy in terms of weather. But NO WORRIES, there are still some things that can be planted now and that are also sun worshippers like us:

But what else can you plant in the summer months…?
  • Cut and picked lettuces can be planted perfectly until the end of August and harvested in a few weeks.
  • Peas, pumpkins & courgettes love the hot days.
  • Carrots & radishes are not only quickly ready to eat, but can also be sown again and again.
  • Onions & leeks: already prepared for autumn
…& what SHOULD you plant in summer?

FLOWERS, FLOWERS, FLOWERS!

Not only for the eye & the scent but also to support all kinds of insects and bees. 😊 This will also help your vegetables and fruit plants to get the best out of themselves.

But what do we do with all the fruit and vegetables? Almost everything is better grilled, but a salad or two is not to be scoffed at either!

Our tip: A refreshing watermelon-feta salad is the perfect summer lunch!

You need:

  • Watermelon
  • Salad of your choice (or harvest)
  • Feta
  • Walnut kernels
  • Pepper or cucumber
  • Mint
  • Dressing: lime juice, maple syrup, balsamic & oil
