Heinz Ramsbacher works at the Falkensteiner Club Funimation Katschberg. Every morning he comes to the hotel and supports the team in service. The guests know him because many of them are regulars for years. What is special about him? Heinz is 75 years old and a pensioner. Find out why he still works at the hotel here:
Why do you still help out at the hotel despite your pension?
I enjoy it, I like working and I am proud to still be part of the team. The Katschberg is like a second family to me. It’s nice to still be needed at my age. I look forward to going to work every day. And as long as it’s fun and enjoyable, I’ll keep going.
What is the secret of still being so fit at 75?
The secret is the joy of working, I see it as a hobby. In addition, the contact with the guests is good for me. For me, they are “my” guests and many of them have become friends over the years. When you can greet friends every day and are greeted by them, it’s simply a nice feeling.
Are there any special guests that come to mind, guests who have left a special impression?
For me, every guest is special. But what I remember most are the guests who come in with a smile on their lips and a sparkle in their eyes. Then I am proud to be their host.
When you think back to all the years you spent at Falkensteiner Club Funimation, what was your favourite moment?
Every moment is beautiful, I am part of the family. But if I had to choose one, I would say last year when I became an employee of the year. Gugi Spielbüchler invited me to the Christmas party. Gugi is the pearl of the house, who you can always come to and who has an open ear for everything.
So I was at the Christmas party and on the screen that was there, the employees of the year of the individual Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences were chosen. And at the Katschberg, my name was suddenly there. I thought my socks were knocked off, it was such a touching moment. It really is an honour to be recognised in this way.
