On holiday by bike to discover wonderful places and routes

South Tyrol

There are no fewer than five Falkensteiner Hotels & Residences in South Tyrol, and one thing they all have in common is the possibility to explore the surrounding landscape by bike. In South Tyrol, you will find no less than 600 km of cycle paths.

Countless forest and alpine paths offer mountain bikers challenging mountain tours.  In the valley, cyclists can enjoy easy and relaxing bike rides on the cycle paths.

If you decide to stay at the Falkensteiner Family Resort Lido, know that the track between Rio Pusteria and Lienz in Austria is really suitable for everyone, making it perfect for a family holiday.

Right in front of our hotel, you will find direct access to the piste. Once you are on two wheels, you will have beautiful meadows, forests and wheat fields all around you. The route is bordered by train tracks, so if you get tired, the return to the hotel will be more than easy!

Those staying at the Falkensteiner Hotel Kronplatz will also have many opportunities to explore the beautiful Alpine landscape along the beautiful route between Bruneck and Lienz. The cycle path leads through various small Alpine towns such as Innichen or Toblach to Lienz. Mountain bikers will also have fun: the ascent to the bike trails on the Kronplatz is via the cable cars of the valley stations in Reischach – just a few metres from the hotel, and once at the top, the fun begins!

We would also like to point out that the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Sonnenparadies, in Terento, the Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Falkensteinerhof, in Valles, and the Falkensteiner Hotel Antholz, in Anterselva di Sopra, can also be reached via the many kilometres of bike trails.

Jesolo

Our Falkensteiner Hotel & Spa Jesolo is right by the sea, in a beautiful lagoon area.

There are two suggested pre-courses.

The first is the Lagoon Tour, which offers the chance to explore the entire area of the city: you start at Lido and follow the banks of the River Sile to the fishing valleys. By boat you reach the Cavallino Treporti area and then return by bike, between land and water. A truly fascinating and unique tour.

Reaching Lio Piccolo is also a wonderful cycling experience: you start from the centre and pass the Ca’ Savio beach with its natural dunes and coastal forest. You cross the Pordello canal and enter the Treporti area. Through the canals, you reach Corte del Prà and the village of Lio Piccolo, amidst the fishing valleys, where land and water chase each other continuously.

Calabria

Coming down through Italy, in Acconia di Curinga, in the province of Catanzaro on the Tyrrhenian coast at the tip of the boot, is our Falkensteiner Club Funimation Garden Calabria.

It is also an ideal place for summer holidays for cycling enthusiasts!

Here, too, we recommend two routes: on the one hand, you can ride through the long pine forest that runs along the entire coastline of the Gulf of Squillace to the north, for a real Sunset Tour to the Lamezia jetty. A route in the cool of the sea pines that shows off the beauty of this long stretch of wild coastline.

The second option, on the other hand, is to explore the hinterland with a stop at the thousand-year-old Platano di Curinga and a visit to the farm of a local farmer, who shows some typical local products.
