Unterthiner – fruit & vegetable supplier

From our fresh supplier Unterthiner, we purchase freshly harvested fruit and vegetables from South Tyrol and Italy. Priority is given to regional and seasonal varieties from small farms. You can test the products in all Falkensteiner Hotels in South Tyrol.

MADEMOISELLE FIGUE / Sinjorina Smokva

Eko Šinjorina Smokva is a high-quality jam, made from fresh, ecological figs – without additives. The product contains only one ingredient: fresh organic figs from our fig trees in Poljica in the hinterland of Zadar, Croatia. Enjoy the jam at the Falkensteiner Resort Punta Skala.

Kirnig – organic mushrooms

To realize such a project, it required steadfastness and down-to-earthiness from the two farmers Andreas and Josef. Today, the high-quality mushrooms from South Tyrol thrive in the “Hof im Thal” in a specially adapted barn under the watchful eye of the two innovative farmers. Quick & Easy

During the summer, there’s no snack better than a refreshing watermelon. By combining it with ice cubes and lemon juice, you can whip up a refreshing smoothie in no time that will keep you deliciously cool on hot days while being low in calories.

Ingredients:

  • Watermelon
  • Lemon juice
  • Ice cubes
  • Alternatively, mix in a sour apple
  • FSK 18: for an Adults-Only touch & the perfect aperitif, a shot of vodka won’t hurt.
Black Summer Smoothie

This recipe was inspired by black food cuisine, which uses mostly black or very dark foods. You will need:

  • Blueberries
  • Blackberries
  • Black cherries
  • Alternatively: deep blue grapes
  • 1 tsp hazelnut puree or 1 tbsp ground hazelnuts
  • Lemon juice

Pit the cherries. To further refine the flavor, it is recommended to add a squeeze of lemon juice. Then puree all ingredients into a creamy, black summer smoothie and enjoy.

Tip: If you want an extra kick of freshness, you can use lemon balm.

Green Spelt Smoothie

For this super healthy & yet somewhat unusual smoothie, you need the following:

  • 1 banana
  • 2 mushrooms
  • 1 handful of baby spinach
  • 3 heaped tablespoons cashews
  • 250 ml cold water

Clean the mushrooms and cut them in half. Rinse spinach leaves briefly with cold water. Put the cashews in the blender, then add the rest of the ingredients. Pour 250ml of cold water over everything and blend for about 1 minute. Voilá!
