The total of over 28 km of cross-country trails in the region and a fantastic backdrop will ensure you won’t quickly forget this cross-country skiing experience. The Weigetschlagloipe, a 15 km long trail suitable for beginners, leads through a small forest, over fields and meadows and past typical Mühlviertler Bauernsacherln.
An exploration tour is not only fun on skis, snowshoe hikes around the Sternstein or across the meadow also make nature lovers’ hearts beat faster.
Our Sternstein, the ideal area for enjoyable hiking and getting high up. With its 1,118 m it is the highest “mountain” in Bad Leonfelden. From the forest tavern it is only a 30-minute hike to the summit. The walk leads along a small path through the forest. Stop for a breather, it is not for nothing that Bad Leonfelden is called a climatic health resort. At the summit of Sternstein, a snow-covered, glittering vantage point awaits your arrival. Stay for a while in this energy spot and don’t forget to breathe deeply.
On your way back you should stop at the Waldschenke for a delicious mug of coffee topped off with cream. The rustic Mühlviertler Stube reflects the traditions of the region and invites you to linger.
