Anyone can barbecue – but not with such a beautiful view! And vegan & with a view of the Dachstein massif at sunset – sounds dreamy? It is!
Soul food and feast for the eyes
Adriana Marchetti, General Manager, and Bernd Maier, Executive Chef, at the Falkensteiner Hotel Schladming love to break new ground to find inspiration for new projects.
So the two took the trouble to bring a portable grill, including equipment and vegan barbecue ingredients, to the Gasselhöhe – a peak on the Reiteralm. With the setting sun, the fresh delicacies were then prepared together on the grill and then enjoyed exactly at sunset. The incredible panorama from the summit of the Reiteralm, which is easy to reach, and the almost magical atmosphere were a very special experience.
New activities bring new opportunities and fresh ideas
“In the course of my ongoing training as a fasting companion, nutrition and the build-up days after fasting are naturally also a big topic. Thus, this was the perfect opportunity to enjoy home-cooked treats again after the recent fasting cure – from my chef himself! 😊”, Adriana Marchetti
We are particularly looking forward to the fasting weeks starting in spring 2022, which are currently being planned. When working out and planning the soon-to-be bookable packages, helps enormously to be actively on the road in our unique region. While brainstorming together, in a new location to boot, countless ideas come to mind…
“To clear my head and switch off, I love being out and about in nature around Schladming-Dachstein. This is also where I get the best ideas for new and creative dishes. This is also how many creations for our new bowl menu at the genießBAR came about, many of which are vegan or also possible as a vegan alternative,” Bernd Maier.
Just in time for autumn, Steiermark’s Best Event is just around the corner! From 12 – 14 November 2021, the special culinary weekend goes into the 3rd round. Various star chefs, including Johann Lafer again, will provide a spectacular gala menu on Saturday. The whole thing opens on Friday with the culinary delicacy market at the genießBAR.
New activities strengthen the entire togetherness! And quite honestly – the well-deserved “summit snack” still tastes best of all! An excursion of a special kind, which we will certainly repeat soon!
