5 tips for your “Hüttengaudi” at home

A winter without Zirberl, Mickie Krause, and dancing in cramped spaces on the mountain? Will we be able to cope with that? – Of course! Those who have survived the winter “partying” at lofty heights, with all kinds of creative spirits and especially the subsequent descent, will also be able to cope with a winter season without après ski. So a little Detox is now and then what fine.

However, if you look back on your last après-ski evening with a bit more melancholy, and if the sound of the word itself makes your dancing hips itch, you can bring a little Alpine feeling into your own walls with 5 steps. Let’s go!

01 THE RIGHT PLAYLIST

Aprés ski without music is like swimming without water. Well, it’s difficult. Even if the après ski classics, to be honest, are anything but content-rich songs, we don’t care how many word repetitions occur within 3 minutes when celebrating at the hut, in contrast to German school work. The easier to sing along to the better for the general mood! Get inspired by our playlist and dance in your mind on the umbrella bar! ????

02 ZIRBERL, WILLI & CO.

In addition to wine and beer, a decent après-ski party at home can’t be complete without the more spirited drinks. In addition to the “short” classics such as Zirberl, Willi & Co. there are also a number of special creations that are really only found at Aprés Ski. These are mostly characterized by names where you don’t know in advance exactly what you’ve ordered at the bar. Such as “hot witch,” “Bombardino,” “farmer’s tequila,” “Flying Muh,” “Lumumba,” “Flügerl” or “hot granny.” And that’s just a handful of the exquisite drinks that have made their way onto many a liquid slope menu.
If you want to get in the mood without alcohol, simply get a few bottles of Almdudler (affectionately known as Lederhosen whiskey) and serve yourself ski water or hot chocolate with whipped cream.

03 SKI LODGE FEELING ON THE PLATE

A few hearty snacks are part of every good party. In particular, before the après ski on the mountain, it is recommended to try one or the other hut dish – my grandfather always said that this is so important, because otherwise the consumed Zirbenschnaps lifts you instantly out of your ski boots – and we do not want that ????

Classics, such as Kaspressknödelsuppe, Kasnocken, Gulaschsuppe, Kaiserschmarren & Co. can be prepared at home in no time – and then let taste!

04 THE RIGHT OUTFIT FOR ALPINE FEELING

If you want to go one better besides proper music & culinary, you can also throw on your ski outfit – especially recommended for those who can have their party outdoors. Those who party indoors can put on a traditional outfit or two, if available. Or by far the lightest outfit – you just strap your ski goggles on your head – done. With hoods & scarves, this also works quite well.

05 UMBRELLA BAR DISCO ATMOSPHERE

In order to adapt atmospherically to the hut feeling or the umbrella bar at home, you can enhance the mood within your four walls with a disco ball (DIY), a few fairy lights, and parts of your ski equipment. There are absolutely no limits to your imagination here. No matter what elements conjure you mentally in alpine terrain – just build them in.

Those were our 5 tips for après ski feeling at home. Short & crisp. Now it’s just MUSIC ON & GO! If celebrating in a small circle seems too boring, you can virtually join forces with a few like-minded après ski fans and organize a joint lip sync battle to the hits of Mickie Krause, Helene Fischer & Co. Have fun!
