Everyone knows it: a 3-day weekend getaway can quickly mean 3 weeks’ worth of luggage. Yes, the relaxation already starts when you pack your suitcase – when you start thinking in anticipation about all the indispensable things you will need on holiday.
But one thing is clear: no one wants to pay for excess luggage, and neither does dragging yourself to death. As the title of this article suggests, here are a few things you don’t need to take with you to our hotels to save your back and (in the case of flights) even your wallet.
The basics
The easiest tip first: basics are items and utensils that are provided by our hotels anyway, such as towels, hairdryers, bathrobes, and flip flips for our spa areas. In addition, all our hotels also have shower gels, shampoos or body lotions available for you in the rooms.
Active Holidays are the best
Do you want to go cycling, stand-up paddling or skiing on holiday? And preferably a different activity every day? Perfect, because our Active Hotels are looking forward to your visit. But with so much going on, it’s best to think twice about whether you really want to take your own equipment with you. Often you will pay much more for bulky items or excess weight than for renting them on-site. It’s best to use our ski and snowboard rentals – not only will you save on transporting your own equipment, but you’ll also always have the latest equipment on the slopes. Our hotels at Nassfeld, Schladming or Jesolo also offer bike & e-bike rentals. Children’s bikes can also be rented here. We also have Segways for short exploratory tours on land and Stand-Up Paddle Boards for exploratory tours on the water. Our fitness & sports areas also offer the best equipment: from dumbbells to yoga mats, everything is available in the hotel.
Children and their pack mules
All parents among you will know what I am talking about here. The dear children and the 764 items that you need to be able to enjoy a relaxed holiday with the whole family. We have come up with a few nice little features to make your holiday easier, in the truest sense of the word. Especially our Family Hotels offer numerous cool gadgets & hotel areas:- 24-hour baby kitchen: some of our hotels have their own baby kitchen with fresh milk, HIPP baby food, microwave, steriliser, bottle warmer and fridge.
- Our Family Hotels also offer freshly prepared porridge, soups and daily changing menus for all little gourmets.
- Bulky items such as cots, buggies, back carriers, changing mats, baby baths, potties, nappy pails and baby monitors can also be borrowed at many Family Hotels, saving you a lot of trudging.
- But we have also prepared little things like baby bibs, Falky colouring books, crayons, Falky UNO cards, and Falky adventures for you to further lighten your luggage load.
- The Family Hotel Diadora in Croatia, newly renovated in 2022, even has its own launderette – fewer clothes = lighter suitcase.
Four-legged friends and an extra suitcase
