There is a special magic in the Christmas season and especially in Velden, this magic is brought to life. The Velden Advent is open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until 18 December 2022. We will tell you on our blog what you can expect:
Lots of Advent attractions
A winter walk through Velden offers countless opportunities to pause, enjoy, dream and marvel. There are also countless great photo motifs waiting for you – our fabulously illuminated Falkensteiner Schlosshotel Velden is just as much an eye-catcher as the landmark of Velden Advent, the floating Advent wreath. But also the floating nativity scene or the beautifully designed baroque nativity scene is perfect for a Christmas photo.
But that’s not all, Velden Advent offers much more for young and old: a romantic book tour on board the Santa Lucia, a tranquil stroll train ride through the Christmassy town, a fun ride on the back of the cute ponies in the Kurpark or an exciting ride on the Advent Ferris wheel to experience Velden from above.
Advent for Children
The Velden Advent has always been known for its extraordinary and varied children’s programme. But in the last two years the organisers have used the “quiet” time to redesign this programme and above all to adapt it to the current times:
The focus of this year’s children’s programme is the clumsy but lovable angel student Fabian. An angel pupil, of course, how could it be any different in the Angel City on Lake Wörthersee!
The youngest Advent guests can look forward to the following activities, among others:
FABIAN’S ENGRAVING WORKSHOP
Here you can create small works of art under the expert guidance of Sabrina and with the help of the hard-working Velden Engerl team. You will also find one or two crafting tips from Fabian, who himself loves to spend his time in the heavenly workshop.
Cost: EURO 3.00 per child
Opening hours: Fridays from 15.00 – 18.00 & Saturdays, Sundays
FABIAN’S ENGERL WRITING ROOM
This is the place for small and big Christmas wishes. If you like, you can write a letter or draw a picture for the Christ Child here. The team will be happy to help out if you are not yet able to write or draw.
The letter is then placed in a giant post box. Every evening, angel pupil Fabian collects the letters and delivers them personally to the Christ Child. So it’s very important not to forget your address!
Cost: EURO 3.00 per child
Opening hours: Fridays from 15.00 – 18.00 & Saturdays, Sundays
FABIANS ENGERL-LESESTUBE (in the LESElust library)
Well-known authors of children’s books as well as well-known people from Velden tell their favourite Advent stories to the little Advent guests. Fabian is sure to be hiding somewhere, listening for one of his adventures to be revealed.
Opening hours: Saturdays, Sundays
Readings: every half hour
